January 12th Update - Drop in & Play Program Registration Open

Eastside Timbers Members,

We are excited about being able to provide the Drop in and Play Program this winter for our Recreation members. This program will be for 6 weeks every Saturday on the following dates at  the Eastside Timbers Complex.

February 6, 13, 20 & 27. March 6 & 13.

The program will be offered to ages 1st grade to high school. In our experience, it has not been the best situation for our youngest players to play outside in the winter months. No indoor facilities are open at the moment due to COVID restrictions. We hope Pre-K and Kindergarten members will join us for the Spring League which will begin registering on February 15th.

The schedule for the Drop in and Play Program will be dependent on registration numbers. All sessions will be one hour long and held between 9am - 1pm. The time of your session will be confirmed by January 29. Please click the link below to register, or visit the our webpage HERE for more information!

January 8th Update

Dear Eastside Families,

Happy New Year! We hope you are keeping safe and well and that you enjoyed the holiday season.

This email is an update of what we are planning for the 2021 recreation soccer season and what it will look like. There will be some changes due to COVID-19 and we want you to know the safety of our players, coaches and members comes first.

The Spring Recreation season will start in May and will include six games at a reduced cost. Registration will open on February 15th and we hope everyone will register early so that we can secure our volunteer coaches and form teams in a timely manner to allow for teams to be organized and begin to train two weeks before games begin on May 1st.  For those who have a credit from 2020 you will receive an email that will include a Discount Code to use when registering. This must be used before registration closes on March 19.

We understand this unprecedented time has been hard for many of our members and we know that you have missed being out on the field.  The month of May seems a long time away so we want to give families the opportunity to participate in some soccer before our Spring Season.

In the Fall, we held a weekly session that allowed kids to practice and scrimmage since we were unable to hold a league.  We received some great feedback on this program and plan to hold a similar “Turn Up and Play” program beginning February 6th.

This will be for six Saturdays. Players will come to the Eastside Complex and get to train and play soccer games on the turf field. More information and a link to register will be sent out on Monday.

Thank you all for your support in 2020! We look forward to our upcoming opportunities and hope to see you very soon.

October 23rd Update

Hi Eastside Timbers Members,

We have two weeks left of the Recreational Camp and I hope the players have had a great time so far. There are no changes to the location and times this week. Please click the link below if you wish to check your time.

https://www.eastsidetimbers.com/reccamp

If you are at the Eastside Timbers Complex, as of last week, parents were not allowed to watch from the fence or be standing in the car park due to the amount of players on the fields. These are Oregon Health Authority guidelines that we must follow. I want to thank all of those who helped us be safe and followed these guidelines.

Instead of walking your players to the drop off point, please drop them off in your car. There will be a lane marked with cones that you can pull in to by the honey buckets and drop players off. A member of staff will be there to take the players to check in which is on the field. Pick up will be the same. We will walk the players after each session to the overflow car park. Please be in a parking space so we can keep the traffic moving to the exit.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Carly Copplestone

October 21st Update

Hi Eastside Timbers Members,

Those members that paid for the Recreational fall league will be receiving a refund for the difference as the Recreational Camp was cheaper.

To issue you those refunds we have to complete a report and paperwork to Sports Engine (the system we use) and they will issue you the refunds. This has taken some time due to us not knowing who was and who wasn't attending the camp. We are now in the process of doing this report and getting it to Sports Engine.

The funds will be put back on the card you paid with. If you paid by cash or check you will receive a check. Everyone should receive their refund by November 13. If you do not receive this by then please contact me directly. We thank you for your patience at this time.

If you are wanting more games this winter then go to the link below and sign up for Winter Futsal. Registration closes this Friday, October 31!

Thank you.

October 14th Update

Hi Eastside Timbers Members,

Please check your location, time and details for your camp this Saturday, October 17.

Due to competitive league games beginning at the Eastside Timbers Complex on Saturday 10/17 and the guidelines set in place by Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Youth Soccer Association for these league games, there will be no parents allowed around the fence or in the parking lot. Children are to be dropped off at the honey buckets/containers no earlier than 10 minutes before their session. A staff member will be there to meet them and direct them to the field. You may wait in your cars or you can leave and return at the end of the session. When you return, please wait in the overflow car park. Staff will walk players to the overflow car park and wait for them to get to their cars. A map will be sent out shortly for those who are not familiar. We thank you in advance for following these new protocols that all of our Eastside Timbers members can enjoy themselves.

September 22nd Update

Hi Eastside Timbers Members,

We hope you are all keeping safe and well with all that is going on right now.

We received some exciting news this week from OYSA through an update by Oregon Health Authority. Soccer is deemed a “minimum contact sport”, therefore, players are able to participate in closer proximity, which means games, if they wear a mask. Since receiving this news we are working on a plan that will allow players to scrimmage each week during our training sessions.

We still cannot hold actual “league” games due to the challenge of securing and having access to fields. With many schools closed and not allowing us to use their fields, we will be using the camp format. This means we will not be forming teams but each age group will have the opportunity to train/play each Saturday for six weeks. This means you will not be hearing from your coach. Volunteer coaches are still needed and will be coaching during the weekly camp sessions.

We are still planning on starting next Saturday, September 26. We are hoping to have the location and time to you by Monday. This will be at the reduced cost of $60.

For all camp information, please visit eastsidetimbers.com/reccamp

We look forward to seeing you on the field next week!

August 21st Update

Eastside Timbers Recreational Member,

Thank you for registering for Eastside Timbers Fall Recreational soccer. Please read all of this email as it has some very important information with regards to our ability to provide you with the best possible season.

Due to Oregon still being in Phase 1, soccer games cannot be played. We will be following Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) guidelines which are determined by the State and Oregon Health Authority. Currently OYSA’s plan is to start playing games the last week of September as long as we are allowed to move into Phase II. This means that Fall Recreation games will start at the later date Saturday, September 26.

Please click the link below for updated information with new dates of when you will hear from your coach, start training and games.

https://www.eastsidetimbers.com/fallrec

Games will only go ahead if State Government and Oregon Health Authority allows Oregon to go into Phase II. If Oregon is still in Phase 1 at the end of September we will be looking to hold soccer clinics at the Eastside Timbers Complex on Saturdays instead of games. These sessions will be led by myself and your coach, in a safe and fun environment.

Each session will be devised for each age group. Our aim is to get each player the maximum amount of touches on the ball working on individual skills, passing and shooting technique to help them to become better soccer players. This will be at a discounted price of $50. You will be refunded the difference based on your payment.

We will be in contact by mid-September, if not sooner, to let you know the plan on how we will be moving forward. We do not have any additional information at this time.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Carly Copplestone

As we look forward to getting back to soccer, we are working on offering our members some FREE soccer clinics in the summer to prepare for the Fall Soccer Season! These will be led by myself and other coaching staff. More information to follow!

Registration for Fall Soccer starts in June and we can't wait to get back on the field. Having no soccer in the Spring, we understand how much our families have missed playing. With regards to the 2020 Spring Season that we were not able to hold, we are offering four different options for the Spring Fees paid:

- For those wishing to use their Spring payment as a credit to Fall registration 2020, please click here!

- If you do not wish to play in the Fall 2020, you can apply your Spring payment as a credit for next Spring 2021. Please click here!

Those who purchased uniforms can use them for the up and coming seasons. Due to them being purchased from an outside company and being customized, there are no refunds for uniforms. Please respond by clicking one of the options above by May 15. If we do not get a response by this date, we will consider your Spring payment as a donation.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you in the summer and for the Fall season.

Hi Eastside Timbers Families,

We are waiting for guidelines from the Governor on outdoor activities. As we plan to go ahead with the season we will not be issuing any refunds at this time. If this changes, we will let you know how we are going to move forward with refunds/credits.

March 26th Update - Meal Availability

Dear Eastside families,

Due to these increasingly difficult times, there are some food support resources through the School Districts and City of Gresham Chamber of Commerce. that are available, that we would like to make sure everyone is aware of:

Schools are offering food. Each school district is handling it differently. Walk-up/Drive-up sites will be provided at Powell Butte, Meadows, Parklane/Oliver, and Patrick Lynch Elementary Schools. Distribution Times will be 10:30 am-12:30 pm Monday-Friday, beginning March 30, 2020. Changes to this schedule will be posted on the Gresham Chamber of Commerce website.

The Gresham Chamber will also be driving elementary school routes to distribute breakfast and lunch. Route stops and times will be provided prior to March 30th. Middle and High School students as well as younger children are welcome to obtain food at any of these school locations or at stops along the route. Students will be receiving both breakfast and lunch at one time. No identification will be required; children up to age 18 may obtain food at any location regardless of the school they attend, non-school aged children are also eligible.

- The links below are more focused on family supply.

- The school districts are Gresham, Barlow and Centennial

March 20th Update

To Eastside Timbers Recreation Members,

We hope you are keeping well at this time. Our main priority is players and members safety and well being. We are to follow guide lines from the State Governors and Oregon Youth Soccer (OYSA) who we got an update from yesterday.

Due to most Oregon schools being currently closed until at least April 28 the OYSA committee decided that there will be no scheduled games in April. This would allow Spring Recreational Soccer games to start on May 2 and go through until June 13. To play 8 games we will have 2 week night games.

The committee will meet again on April 2, and assess the latest information from the Oregon State Governors and State Public Health Authorities. The committee is in contact daily and has committed to reconvene within 48 hours if there are any significant state updates between today and April 2. We plan to be nimble and transparent in this regard and get information to our membership.

In very strange times we remain positive and hope we see you all on the soccer field very soon.

March 16th Update

Eastside Timbers Spring Recreation Registrants,

Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time and the COVID-19 situation.  We are constantly reviewing the situation and monitoring all government guidelines and protocols.  Due to this, we expect training for our recreation teams to begin the week of April 6th.  Coaches will begin contacting their team members the week of March 23rd.  This could be by email or phone so please be sure to check your junk or spam folder and listen to any voice mail messages.

If you registered under the Pending list, we will begin looking to move players from that list to teams later this week.  You will be contacted by us to confirm your placement, collect payment of fee and uniform size, if one is needed.

We will keep you updated on any changes as they are decided.
