ADIDAS Eastside Coach and Players of the Month

Starting this month, we have established a new segment in the club to recognize and highlight a coach and two players that will be featured on our website, newsletter, and social media outlets. These honorees will receive a generous gift from ADIDAS and will be in the running for our end-of-year awards. Our first recipients are:

Governor appoints Thanh H. Tran to preside as judge of the Clackamas County Circuit Court

Thanh H. Tran has a civil litigation practice based in Clackamas County. To the Governor’s offices' knowledge, he will be Oregon’s first Vietnamese American judge and the first Asian American judge on the Clackamas County Circuit Court. He came to the United States as a child refugee from Vietnam and earned his law degree from the University of Washington. He remained in Seattle to work as a criminal prosecutor and then at civil litigation firms for the eight years following his graduation. In 2002, he started his own law practice, where he has represented individuals in personal injury cases, family law, commercial litigation, immigration law, real estate law, and criminal defense.

Tran is a graduate of the Judicial Academy at the National Judicial College and has received the Oregon State Bar Association President’s Diversity and Inclusion Award. He is a past member of the Oregon State Bar Board of Professional Responsibility and a current board member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He is highly involved in the Clackamas County community, including through his service to the Eastside Timbers, the North Clackamas School District Bond Advisory Committee, the Clackamas United Soccer Club, Our Lady of Lavang Vietnamese Catholic Church, and the Oregon Vietnamese Community Association. ~ State of Oregon Newsroom


Gabriel Vuky has been selected to the 2023 ODP 2010 Boys West Regional Team

A huge congratulations to Gabriel Vuky for being selected to the 2023 ODP 2010 Boys West Regional Team! Gabriel and his regional team will compete at the ODP Interregional Tournament in Jan, 2024 at the Omni in Orlando, FL.


Keller Storlie Signs MLS Next Pro Contract with Real Monarchs

A big congratulations are in order for Keller Storlie, a former player of Eastside Timbers. We're thrilled to share the news that he has signed with the MLS Next Pro Team Real Monarchs! 

Keller's roots trace back to Happy Valley, OR, where he grew up, and his soccer journey began during the days of Eastside United FC. His path led him to Spain, where he played for youth teams Getafe, CD Mostoles, and AD Alcorcon. He also spent a year with AD Aserri in Costa Rica. Through his dedication and hard work, Keller has earned this remarkable opportunity, and we're looking forward to watching him play at this next level.


Eastside Timbers & Thorns FC Announces Greg Pfleger as Sports & Event Center Director!

Greg steps into the expanded role previously held by Tom Kean who will continue to serve as the club’s Youth Academy Director.

In this new position, Pfleger will manage the day-to-day operations of Oregon Premier Futsal, and its transition to the new Sports & Event Center at the Eastside Sports Complex in the near future. Drawing on years of experience in the business and soccer industry, organizational management, procurement, and customer service, he will provide a platform for sustainable growth and opportunity for our club and community.

“We are thrilled to have an individual with large-scale experience in the business and soccer industry to take the necessary next-steps to solidify Eastside Indoor Sports in our community,” said Technical Director Greg Maas. “His strategic leadership, vision, and innovative approaches will prove instrumental as he helps to take our organization and programming opportunities to new heights.”

Eastside Timbers & Thorns FC is committed to providing the best possible opportunities for our players, coaches, families, and surrounding communities. The expansion of our leadership team will allow for Eastside to better serve the needs of our entire membership, along with helping to implement the shared vision for our club, as we expand and progress into the future.

“I am thrilled to join Eastside Timbers & Thorns FC as the new Sports & Event Center Director, where my passion for soccer now becomes a full-time pursuit on and off the pitch. I’m ready to kick-off an exciting journey in the sport I love,” said Greg Pfleger.

The Northwest native and former collegiate standout for George Fox University, holds a bachelor’s degree in Educational Ministry and his U.S. Soccer ‘B’ License. Greg resides in Happy Valley, OR with his wife Casey, and has three children Natalie, Johnna, and Charlotte.


Braelyn Robertson to Compete in New Zealand with Soccer.com 2008 National Select Team

Eastside Timbers & Thorns FC player Braelyn Robertson has been selected by Soccer.com and Generation adidas international to compete in an event surrounding the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted in New Zealand and Australia. 

“This is an incredible opportunity for Braelyn – an experience of a lifetime to be honest,” said Technical Director Greg Maas. “Our partnership with Soccer.com has opened new doors for our club, and for Braelyn to be selected to travel, train, compete, and attend the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is a dream come true for her.”

In partnership with Inspiresport, the Soccer.com 2008 National Select Team will have an exclusive soccer experience training at state-of-the-art facilities, competing against top-level opponents, cultural sight-seeing throughout New Zealand, and attending 5 different World Cup matches featuring FIFA’s top-ranked U.S. Women’s National Team. 

The Soccer.com 2008 National Select Team features players from around the country and the event runs July 20th through August 3rd.
