This Is Eastside

Eastside Timbers is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2001 to provide recreational and competitive soccer programs while enhancing the community and supporting businesses of East Multnomah County. Initially formed as a merger between Gresham Youth Soccer and surrounding competitive soccer clubs, Eastside serves over 2,800 youth soccer players from around the region and provides playing opportunities to all levels of participants, including Recreational, Competitive, Futsal, and TOPSoccer (which is the largest soccer program in the state for developmentally or physically challenged youths and adults). Eastside Timbers is currently a member of the Portland Timbers Soccer Alliance, which provides player development pathways, curriculum, and educational resources for both coaches and players. You can find our Club's Mission Statement by clicking HERE!

Community Events

Since choosing to locate our Sports Complex in the City of Gresham, Eastside Timbers has committed to partnering with local and national non-profits to further the opportunities for the local youth and the surrounding communities. Currently, Eastside has ongoing programs with the following Non-profit organizations: Parrott Creek Child and Family Services for At Risk Youth, Special Olympics, Street Soccer USA, Oregon Youth Soccer Association, Reynolds Youth Soccer, and Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN).

Our Club also has unique opportunity of hosting a variety of other soccer programs around the  Gresham area.  Eastside Timbers currently hosts Warner Pacific University Men's and Women's Collegiate Soccer programs, Multnomah University Men's and Women's Collegiate Soccer programs, and USL League 2 side PDX FC for trainings and we manage and host the USL Women's League PDX FC team as well.  There is no shortage of opportunities to bring this community closer together and we look forward to hosting more events in the near future!

SUN & After School Programs

Born from the SUN partnership and through its relationships with members of the Gresham/Barlow and Centennial School Districts, Eastside began a free after school program for the community’s students.  This opportunity for Gresham’s youth provides Eastside Complex field time, equipment, coaching and transportation. This program has already served over 200 kids and the turnout for 2022 is looking likely to significantly increase. Now revised due to Covid restrictions and bus shortages, Eastside partnered with the City of Gresham for a Federal HUD Grant providing free recreational soccer for demographically qualified kids.

Scholarship Opportunities

Our goal is to make sure that soccer playing opportunities are available to every player who has the desire to play. Consistent with this mission, Eastside provides qualifying youth members with scholarships to ensure that they can enjoy the amazing game of soccer. Our Club is able to provide these scholarships by hosting fundraisers, receiving donations from community members, and using 100% of the proceeds gained from our online merchandising store. On top of all of that, our Club has been fortunate enough to earn a variety of Grants from local and national organizations to help fulfill the needs of our Scholarship fund which results in over $50,000/year in financial aid. We cannot thank our community enough for their support in helping children get on the field.

TOPSoccer

The Eastside TOPSoccer Program serves players experiencing disabilities in our community, regardless of classification. We provide the opportunity to access the amazing sport of soccer which is supported by Oregon Youth Soccer (OYSA). Our inclusive service is provided by an experienced coaching staff and volunteer buddies for individualized mentorship. Adaptive equipment and ability-based sessions are just some of the ways our program meets the needs of our athletes. Our Club offers nine-week seasons during the Fall and Spring, as well as Summer and Winter camps. Learn more here.

Recreational Soccer

The Recreational Soccer program at our Club is the bloodline of our membership and is one of the largest programs in the State of Oregon. Every year, we host a Fall and Spring season, and we currently serve over 2,000 players annually.  Teams are formed all over the East County from the Eastside of the Portland Metropolitan area, all the way to Welches.  Our Rec program continues to be the gold standard for grassroots soccer in Oregon. Whether players are simply looking to join a team with their friends and family, or if they're looking to jump start their playing careers, our Recreational program serves players of all skill sets, ages, and genders.

Competitive Soccer

Eastside has a rich history of producing some of the top competitive teams in the history of Oregon Youth Soccer.  Every year, players from around the State will attend our competitive tryouts in hopes of joining one of our teams. Each team typically competes year round with the exception of high school players who will return to their school during their high school season.  In Our Club's history, we have won over 22 OYSA State Championships, we won a USYS National Championship in 2010 (one of two teams to ever achieve this from Oregon), and we have one of the most decorated Alumni programs not only in Oregon, but in the entire Northwest.

What's Next for Eastside?

We have just received news that the official plans for the Eastside Clubhouse have been APPROVED!  With this Eastside Sports Center building project, Eastside Timbers will be able to further our support for the City of Gresham and the community at large. While an important training facility for our current and future soccer and futsal players, the versatility of the futsal courts will also provide usability for the area’s youth basketball and volleyball programs. The submitted design is a result of the countless hours of collaboration put in by our construction team, City of Gresham Planning Division, Eastside Board and Staff members. Our goal has been to fulfill the City’s design vision and guidelines while balancing the practicality, serviceability, and economic impact on our mission to provide the programs for our players and their families, within a safe and secure environment.
